The Brief
We were asked to provide and install a high class butchers serve-over cabinet and cold room for the butchery department.
A matching serve-over, small multideck and compact glass door display freezer was also required for the delicatessen.
The equipment should only produce minimal heat and any remote equipment would need to be located at the back of the building in an old internal room just 10′ x 4′. The installation would have to be completely silent because the site was bordered by residential housing.
The Solution
We selected Smeva serve-overs with the client choosing the finish on the front panel, end walls and worktop. A matching Smeva weight saver system was chosen for the butchers counter which would keep products in pristine condition without any drying. This permits the cabinet to remain loaded night and day hereby dramatically reducing time loading and unloading every day.
A matching stainless steel front to the butchers cold room was installed which complimented the décor whilst being easy to clean.
In the delicatessen, a Smeva slim line serve-over was selected with a stainless steel remote multideck and compact glass door freezer.
The plant room was located 30 metres away in an internal room. We installed Bitzer condensing units with high ambient condensers and fan speed control to minimise noise. We also constructed an insulated ductwork system to bring fresh air in and hot air out.
All equipment including back up cabinets were connected to an alarm and temperature-monitoring system ensuring the daily temperature logs are maintained and any alarms are clearly displayed.
The Result
The equipment compliments the building design whilst offering perfect conditions for the presentation of their high class, local products. There is little or no heat produced in the shop whilst the plant room, which is next to an outdoor seating area remains silent and invisible.
The Smeva counters have become the focal point of the shop and actually draw people into it.
